Your Questions, Answered

Many minor aches, strains, and injuries will improve with time. However, knowing what to do, when to do it, and when to seek further help can often make the recovery process smoother and more effective.
At Aspire Health Group, our physiotherapists will carry out a thorough assessment to understand the cause of your symptoms, identify any factors contributing to your pain or injury, and provide you with a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan tailored to your goals.
Physiotherapy can help if you are experiencing persistent pain, recovering from an injury or surgery, struggling to return to exercise, or finding that your symptoms are affecting your work, sleep, hobbies, or everyday activities. Early assessment can also help identify when further investigations or onward referral may be appropriate.
Our aim is not only to help you recover from your current problem but also to reduce the likelihood of it returning. Through education, rehabilitation, and targeted strengthening and conditioning exercises, we aim to help you move with confidence and get back to doing the things that matter most to you.
If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy is right for you, please get in touch – our team will be happy to discuss your symptoms and advise on the most appropriate next steps.

At your first appointment with Aspire Physio UK you will be asked a series of questions to enable us to understand the history and nature of your complaint. It is important to us that we understand your concerns and aspirations for treatment. Secondly we want to assess your symptoms, this will most likely consist of observing your movement of the affected area, and perhaps the surrounding areas too. This will likely be followed up by a series of tests to ascertain your strength and flexibility. Finally we may need to put our hands on the areas affected to feel for tension or stiffness. Following these steps you will receive a diagnosis as well as a thorough, HONEST explanation of what is causing your symptoms. From here a treatment plan will be made with you, to help you achieve your recovery goals.

The honest answer is that it depends on the nature of your problem, how long you’ve had it, and what you’re hoping to achieve.
Following your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss your diagnosis, outline a personalised treatment plan, and give you an indication of how long your recovery is likely to take. Some people only require one appointment for reassurance, advice, and a structured rehabilitation programme, while others may benefit from a series of sessions to support their recovery and progression.
For many conditions, we recommend regular reviews (often weekly or fortnightly initially) to monitor progress, adapt your rehabilitation programme, and ensure you are moving towards your goals. However, we understand that every person is different. Some patients prefer a more hands-on approach with closer guidance, while others are confident managing much of their rehabilitation independently.
At Aspire Health Group, we will always recommend what we genuinely believe is in your best interests. We will never ask you to attend more appointments than you need. Our aim is to give you the knowledge, support, and confidence to achieve lasting results and return to the activities that matter most to you.

Your initial appointment at Aspire Health Group is designed to help us understand your symptoms, identify the cause of your problem, and develop a personalised plan to help you achieve your recovery goals.
We will begin by asking you a series of questions about your current symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and the activities that are important to you. Understanding your concerns, expectations, and goals allows us to tailor our approach to your individual needs.
This will be followed by a detailed physical assessment. Depending on your symptoms, this may involve observing your posture and movement patterns, assessing the affected area and surrounding joints, and carrying out tests to evaluate your strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, or function.
In some cases, we may also use hands-on assessment techniques to identify areas of stiffness, tenderness, muscle tension, or joint restriction that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Following your assessment, your physiotherapist will explain their findings and discuss your diagnosis with you in clear, straightforward language. We believe in providing honest, evidence-based advice, ensuring that you fully understand your condition, the factors contributing to it, and the treatment options available to you.
Together, we will create a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan designed around your goals – whether that’s returning to sport, recovering after surgery, managing persistent pain, or simply getting back to everyday activities with confidence.
Our aim is not only to help you recover from your current problem but to give you the knowledge and tools to stay active and reduce the risk of future injury.
